50 High Street, TARPORLEY, CW6 0AG
The 16th-century Swan has been the hub of Cheshire's picturesque Tarporley village for over 500 years; in days gone by it was a convenient resting place for travellers journeying between London and Chester. The Swan opens early - 7am on weekdays, and 8am at weekends. While locals stop by for a pint of Weetwood's Eastgate, the chef prepares local produce for the seasonal menus which change weekly. Bar nibbles include pickled eggs and pork scratchings, while main courses may proffer steak and Guinness pie; sticky sesame beef stir-fry; or warm caramelised onion and broccoli quiche with spinach and walnut salad. Look out for the summer beer festival.
