The Selborne Arms
High Street,
SELBORNE,
GU34 3JR
Nick and Hayley Carter's traditional and simply furnished local stands in the heart of Selborne village, famous for its connections with the pioneer naturalist Gilbert White, and the surrounding walks through glorious beech 'hangers'. Walkers and visitors fill the two homely bars, which sport hop-strewn beams and a huge fireplace with a roaring winter log fire, the draw being the local micro-brewery ales and the freshly prepared food. Making sound use of locally sourced produce the menu takes in Hampshire hog beef burger, oxtail and kidney pudding, whole grilled plaice, and traditional fish pie. Don't miss the early October beer festival.

This pub has won various awards up to 2 years ago. Imagine our disappointement on receiving surly service by a young team serving who not interested in offering any kind of service. The food was absolutely diabolical and expensive. We spent £76 on very poor food and couldn't even get a coffee to finish. Everything was just too much trouble and beleive me, it showed.
