The Inn at Ravenglass

Ravenglass, RAVENGLASS, CA18 1SQ

On the western side of the Lake District, in the National Park's only coastal village, this 17th-century inn is located on the edge of the estuary where the Rivers Irt, Mite and Esk meet before entering the Irish sea. Locally landed and sustainably sourced fish and seafood appear on the daily-changing menus, which might kick off with smoked salmon, cod and king prawn fishcakes and move on to halibut, pistachio risotto and smoked ham hock fritters. Watch the sun set over the estuary with a pint of Coniston Bluebird, one of three real ales available in the bar.
