The Ebrington Arms

EBRINGTON, Chipping Campden, GL55 6NH

Built in 1640, this award-winning Cotswold gem has an abundance of character thanks to the heavy beams and original flagstones in both the bar and Old Bakehouse dining room; the large inglenook fireplaces recall the building's days as the village bakery. Very much the hub of community life, lucky locals (and visitors too, of course) are spoilt for choice. Now brewing three of its own beers: Yubberton Yubby, Yawnie and YPA, which sit alongside guests such as Stroud and Cotswold Brewing's cider and lagers. Chef James Nixon grew up in the area, so knows where to find freshly harvested, organic produce, some of it from the fields around the pub. Recognised with two AA Rosettes, the pub's carte offers the likes of Cornish crab cake with aļoli, followed by roasted cod with basil mash. Visit in early October for a beer festival, or later in the month for a cider pressing day.
