The Barrasford Arms

Chef Tony Binks's village inn can be found close to Hadrian's Wall deep in the glorious Northumbrian countryside, with spectacular views of the Tyne Valley. Most beat a path to Tony's door for his short and imaginative menus. But the Barrasford retains a traditional pub atmosphere, and local Wylam and Hadrian Border ales are on tap in the time-honoured bar to refresh locals, passing walkers and cyclists. A typical lunchtime choice may comprise twice-baked cheddar cheese soufflé followed by 'very local' pheasant, bacon and shallot pie with creamy mash. Finish with a vanilla crème brûlée served with home-made shortbread.
