The Greyhound on the Test

31 High Street, STOCKBRIDGE, SO20 6EY

Hampshire's famous fly-fishing river runs right behind this early 19th-century free house on Stockbridge's wide, picturesque high street. The wood-floored interior is laid out with interestingly styled tables and chairs under a beamed ceiling, while en route to the restaurant local artist Soraya French's artwork is on show. Very much a dining pub, The Greyhound has two AA Rosettes, so expect high quality in dishes such as Broughton buffalo carpaccio; best end of lamb, haggis and faggots; monkfish and scallop cÚviche; and roasted celeriac soup with honey and chestnut. Saturday's regular special is Barbary duck breast.
