The Old Boot Inn
STANFORD DINGLEY,
RG7 6LT
John Haley's 18th-century free house in the Pang Valley serves locally brewed beers from the Brakspear and West Berkshire breweries. Study his carte for good old pub grub like home-made steak and kidney pudding; escalope of veal; and Barnsley chop with roasted garlic, red wine jus and dauphinoise potatoes. Or, from the specials, fillet of venison with creamed cabbage, bacon and port jus; and whole lemon sole with herb butter, both dishes with seasonal vegetables and new potatoes. To follow, see if he's offering chocolate brownie with pistachio ice cream.

the food is simply amazing, great combination of flavours and always a little something new on the menu
chef Rody has definitely brought a lot of new customers to this place
we had to wait a little while but it's worth it.

we went to the old boot inn 2 years ago and this place was terrible, the food and service were really poor and we were the only one there on a sunday lunch.
well yes the new chef has definetly made a big difference because the place was completly full on father's day and the food was perfect, loved the roast potatoes!!!!!!
well done to chef roddy!

i came last year with my girlfirend and it was so quite, the menu was very limited and the food was terrible.
we returned recently because we heard about a new french chef, i think Rody is his name had arrived and the food was absolutly outstanding and it is absolutly true, we had 3 courses and it was just a perfect combination of new choices , the place is actually so much busier now.
