The Bull Inn

This pub in the lovely village of Standford Dingley in the Pang Valley, dates from the 15th century, so prepare to 'duck or grouse'. Pump badges promise West Berkshire and Two Cocks ales, and Wyatt's Berkshire Gold cider. For simple rustic surroundings, eat in the Tap Room or the Saloon; the Dining Room is more formal. Choose from dishes featuring rare-breed meats, local game and Brixham-landed fish and shellfish, as well as sandwiches and bar snacks. From May to September, on the second Saturday of the month, classic cars, and their owners, gather in the adjoining meadow.
