The King's Arms

11 Bloom Street, SALFORD, M3 6AN

For over a century, three main buildings occupied this street - the municipal gas offices, a hostel and this 1870s pub. Having survived major redevelopment all around, it has become a popular hostelry, as well as a venue for art exhibitions, fringe festivals, film screenings and poetry nights. Even the local knitters and crocheters' club meets here. Six hand pumps dispense an ever-changing range of mostly local real ales, and there are guest ciders and continental bottled beers too. A year-round menu offers sandwiches and all-day breakfasts; five-bean chilli; chicken, bacon and mushroom pie; and beer-battered fish and chips.
