The Rashleigh Inn

Once a coastguard station, this 300-year-old pub at the end of a no-through road to Polkerris Beach faces west, so watching the sun set over St Austell Bay is a delight. In the bar there's a good selection of real ales from the south-west, real cider, local organic soft drinks and a water bowl and Bonio biscuits for visiting dogs. Good, locally sourced food majors on the county's fresh seafood, with river mussels from Fowey, Looe scallops, and local crab. For meat lovers, a prime Cornish sirloin, a home-made burger or the home-made steak and ale pie will hit the spot.
