Charters Bar & East Restaurant

Upper Deck, Town Bridge, PETERBOROUGH, PE1 1FP

The largest floating real ale emporium in Britain can be found moored in the heart of Peterborough. The 176-foot converted barge motored from Holland across the North Sea in 1991, and is now a haven for real-ale and cider-lovers. Twelve handpumps dispense a continually changing repertoire of cask ales, while entertainment, dancing, live music and an Easter beer festival are regular features. The 'East' part of the name applies to the oriental restaurant on the upper deck which offers a comprehensive selection of pan-Asian dishes.
