The Daffodil Inn

An inn since the 16th century, The Daffodil is run by retired police officer Hugh Matthews and his wife Gill, who grew up nearby. Close to Newquay beach and Llandysul canoeing centre, this village pub is popular with walkers and cyclists stopping off for a glass of Abbot Ale or Stowford Press cider. Diners can eat in the bar or in the restaurant with its valley views and open kitchen. Welsh produce is showcased in dishes like Rhydlewis smoked salmon and lemon confit, perhaps followed by braised lamb shank with white wine, tomato and cannellini beans.
