The Three Mariners

2 Church Road, OARE, ME13 0QA

Dating back to the late 18th century, the Grade II listed Three Mariners occupies an enviable position in the village of Oare just outside Faversham. With the Saxon Shore Way, the Swale Heritage Trail and the marshes close by, this coastal pub is popular with walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Log fires warm the bar in winter, whilst the sunny terrace is a real draw in summer. Enjoy a pint of local Shepherd Neame or Whitstable Bay Pale Ale and order from a menu that might include fish soup, aïoli and croûtons; red mullet fillets, piquillo peppers, salsa verda and sablée potatoes; or calves' liver, mash, vegetables and beetroot and cassis jus. Cinnamon-coated Nutella gnocchi doughnuts and vanilla ice cream to finish perhaps.
