The Crooked Billet

2 Westbrook End, Newton Longville, BLETCHLEY, MK17 0DF

Just down the road from the Bletchley Park is this thatched village pub. Timbers from a sailing vessel surplus to requirements around the time of Sir Francis Drake were recycled to create the core of the building. The soul of the once rural alehouse remains; crackling winter log fires cast flickering shadows across oak beams; and there are huge lawned gardens. Under new management from September 2014, typical dishes on the menu are a meat or fish platter for two to share; Somerset brie fondue; and caramelised onion tart Tatin to start, followed by venison casserole; pan-fried hake supreme; and pumpkin and garden sage risotto.
