The Staith House

57 Low Lights, NORTH SHIELDS, NE30 1JA

John Calton used to dream of owning his own place on the North Shields fish quay. After working with some of Europe's top chefs his dream finally came true in 2013, when he took on this historic pub, inspired by local produce and the area's recent regeneration. Regular tasting menus are offered, or you can explore the best the region has to offer from the carte. Roast marinated beetroot salad, maybe, or a haggis Scotch egg, to start; mains might include Orchard Farm pig belly, 'bashed root veg', black pudding, Savoy cabbage and crackling. Please note, children are welcome until 7pm.
