Marquis of Lorne

In a picturesque hamlet and close to the market town of Bridport, the Marquis of Lorne has beautiful views. Built as a farmhouse in the 16th century and converted into a pub in 1871, it is now run by Steve and Tracey Brady. They have renewed the focus on local produce throughout the menus, and locally brewed Palmers ales are on tap. Lightly sautéed soft herring roes with capers and parsley makes an interesting starter, while international influences are at play in main courses of 'sticky' beef with Indonesian-style salad; and grilled vegetable lasagne with lovage pesto. Look out for special dinner evenings. The attractive gardens are family friendly, too.
