The Nag's Head Inn

East Street, MARTOCK, TA12 6NF

This 16th-century former cider house is set in a lovely hamstone street in a picturesque south Somerset village. The large rear garden is partly walled and has pretty borders and trees. Ales, wines and home-cooked food are served in both the public and lounge/diner bars, where crib, dominoes, darts and pool are available. A sample menu includes Cajun chicken, burgers, quiche and sizzling garlic butter rump steak. The pub also has a separate skittle alley. There's a poker evening on Tuesday, and Sunday evening is quiz night.
