The Church House Inn

Village Road, MARLDON, Paignton, TQ3 1SL

This ancient country inn dates from 1362, when it was a hostel for the builders of the adjoining village church. It was rebuilt in 1740 and many features from that period still remain including beautiful Georgian windows; some of the original glass still remains despite overlooking the cricket pitch. These days it has an uncluttered, contemporary feel. Typical evening offerings include crab bisque; baked Blue Vinny and pear tartlet; followed by cornfed chicken supreme; chargrilled loin of pork with sweet 'n' sour sauce; and salmon fillet with pearl barley and crab butter.
