Dukes 92

Beautifully-restored 19th-century stable building with a vast patio beside the 92nd lock of the Duke of Bridgewater canal, opened in 1762. The interior is full of surprises, with minimalist decor downstairs and an upper gallery displaying local artistic talent. A grill restaurant supplements a lunchtime bar menu and evening pizza choices, as well as the renowned cheese and pâté counter with its huge range of British and continental cheeses which can be enjoyed with one of the wines served by the glass or a pint of Interbrew.
