The Glasshouse Inn

May Hill, LONGHOPE, GL17 0NN

The Glasshouse gets its name from Dutch glassmakers who settled locally in the 16th century but its origins can be traced back further, to 1450. A gimmick-free traditional pub, it is located in a fabulous rural setting with a country garden and an elegant interior. The inn serves a range of real ales including Butcombe and Sharp's Doom Bar, plus home-cooked dishes such as fish pie; cod and chips; beef curry; steak and kidney served in Yorkshire puddings; and chilli. At lunch you can also choose from a range of sandwiches, ploughman's lunches or basket meals of chips with the likes of scampi or sausage. There's a choice of roasts at Sunday lunch - booking is advisable.
