1 Ely Court, Ely Place, LONDON, EC1N 6SJ
Built in 1546, extended in 1781, in the shadow of the palace of the Bishops of Ely, this quirky historic corner pub is in Ely Court, off Hatton Garden. It is often used as a film location. Choose from at least five real ales in the magnificent wood-panelled rooms, with a range of bar snacks or 'English tapas' that includes toasted sandwiches, pork pies, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, olives and picked eggs. Beer festivals are held in May, August and December, but the pub is closed at weekends and Bank Holidays.
