The Market Porter

With as apt a name as you could wish for, this Borough Market pub is blessed with a really good atmosphere, especially on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, when the retail market operates. A claim to fame is that a few years ago the inn was transformed into the Third Hand Book Emporium in one of the Harry Potter films. The exceptional choice of real ales includes the resident Harvey's, others changing up to nine times a day and some international sidekicks. Apart from sandwiches and bar snacks are dishes such as Cumberland sausage with mash and red onion marmalade; slow-braised belly of Middle English pork with thyme; and tuna Niçoise salad. On weekdays the pub opens its doors at 6am.
