The Eagle

159 Farringdon Road, LONDON, EC1R 3AL

A trailblazer in the early 1990s and paving the way for what we now except as stylish gastro-pubs, The Eagle is still going strong. The lofty interior includes a wooden-floored bar and dining area, a mishmash of vintage furniture, and an open-to-view kitchen that produces a creatively modern, twice-daily changing blackboard menu and tapas selection which revel in bold, rustic flavours. Typical of the range are courgette and potato soup; grilled Merguez sausages, pomegranate couscous and tzatziki; smoked haddock chowder and pancetta; grilled tuna, oven potatoes and aļoli.
