The Red Lion is a beautiful, traditional pub on the village green, very much at the heart of the local community. It became a pub in 1787 when it was converted from three farm cottages. With its wood fires, selection of well-kept real ales and friendly atmosphere, it's a favourite with walkers and holiday-makers too. The menu offers hearty pub food at reasonable prices, such as Thai fishcakes with sweet chilli dip to start; Derbyshire lamb hotpot; steak and kidney pie; or South African bobotie to follow; and apple and berry crumble with custard to finish. A gluten-free menu is available. Only children over six years of age are welcome.
