The Windmill Inn

Main Street, LINTON, Wetherby, LS22 4HT

The small beamed rooms in this pleasant village pub, once the home of the long-disappeared miller, have been stripped back to bare stone, presumably the original 14th-century walls. A coaching inn since the 18th century, polished antique settles, log fires, oak beams and copper-topped cast-iron tables set the scene in which to enjoy good food in the bar or Pear Tree restaurant. Dishes on offer include Moroccan spiced lamb shank, piri piri chicken and home-made pie of the day. A beer festival is held in July.

Not sure that previous reviewers have been to the same establishment as me. Welcome and food fantastic, staff went out of their way to help us and find us a table. Not a huge selection on the menu, but perfectly fine for a Sunday, puddings superb. When the car park is full, you know the pub is great!!

Standards have improved since my last visit and this time I was pleased by the food. Still not a great variety of dishes but made a good choice of pan-fried salmon with new potatoes and hollandaise sauce on a bed of salad. It was a very good and tasty dish served in an attractive pub. The service and choice of drinks still requires some work upon.
