Visitors to this 300-year-old inn can enjoy a mix of first-rate accommodation and exceptional menus, while also enjoying the countless activities that have made the Arundell Arms a destination of choice for lovers both of countryside and country sports. Walkers and horse-riders can enjoy some of Devon's most unspoilt countryside, whilst the inn's own 20 miles of beats on the Tamar and tributaries attract flyfishers. Local farms and estates host various shoots as well as raising livestock that features across the menus of the three dining areas and has earned the inn's restaurant two AA Rosettes. The Arundell Arms' pub, the Lifton Courthouse, was formerly the village police station and magistrates court - note the bars over two of the windows. Indoor sports such as alley skittles and table football are a popular feature enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, as are the real ales on offer such as St Austell Tribute. The Courthouse menu offers good robust bar food, including rump steak with home-made onion rings and beer-battered haddock and chips.
