The Nelson & Railway Inn

Originally 17th-century with Victorian additions, this popular village pub has been run by the same family for over 40 years. Next door is the Hardy & Hanson Brewery that supplies many of the beers, but the two nearby railway stations that once made it a railway inn are now sadly derelict. Interesting brewery prints and railway signs decorate the beamed bar and lounge. A hearty menu of pub favourites includes ploughman's and hot rolls, as well as grills and pub classics like lasagne, fish and chips and home-made cottage pie.
