The John Thompson Inn & Brewery

INGLEBY, DE73 7HW

A pub since 1968, this 15th-century former farmhouse took its name from licensee and owner John Thompson. Now run by son Nick, it is a traditional brewpub set in idyllic countryside beside the banks of the River Trent with views of the neighbouring National Forest. Inside, a wealth of original features make it an atmospheric place to enjoy a pint of home-brewed JTS XXX and tuck into lunches ranging from sandwiches to a roast beef carvery or a trio of cheese and pasta broccoli bake. Finish with home-made bread and butter pudding.
