The George Inn

Stunningly located beside the River Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this pub was built in the 1600s as a farmstead and still has flagstone floors, stone walls, mullioned windows and an open fire. To check if the bar is open, look for a lighted candle in the window. Beers are local, coming from the Black Sheep and Yorkshire Dales breweries. For lunch there's soup, sandwiches and baskets of chips; but the traditional choices for an evening meal are based on locally sourced produce; perhaps try an individual steak and kidney pie, and sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Enjoy your drink on the terrace in the warmer summer months.
