The Windmill, found in the beautiful village of Hollingbourne, is one of chef Richard Phillips' collection of pubs and restaurants. Full of distinctive character and very much part of the local community, it's the ideal place for a relaxing lunch, a quiet drink (Doom Bar, Hoppin' Robin or Flintlock Pale Ale are the real ales on offer) or a more formal dinner. On the menu might be salt and pepper squid with soy ponzu sauce to nibble on while you choose perhaps roasted Jerusalem artichoke velouté, salt baked artichoke and white truffle, followed by free-range duck, slow-cooked breast and confit leg, Merlot-braised red cabbage, roasted red onions and girolle mushrooms, butternut squash and grain mustard sauce.
