The Bluebell

93 High Street, HENLEY-IN-ARDEN, B95 5AT

This rambling, half-timbered old coaching inn has fronted Henley's picturesque High Street for over 500 years. The interior retains much period character, with heavy beams, fireplaces and flagged floors contrasted with modern flourishes and an eclectic mix of furnishings. Behind is a secluded, lavender-scented beer-garden, where beers from Purity may hit the spot. The punchy, seasonal menu has gained the award of two AA Rosettes. Typically; a starter of lamb's kidneys on toast sets the scene for pan-fried fillet of Tamworth pork, shoulder rissole, roast apple, black pudding and Madeira sauce, with fig and almond tart to finish.
