Main Street, HAWORTH, Keighley, BD22 8DU
This traditional family-run 300-year-old coaching inn looks down onto the cobbled Main Street of the famous Brontë town of Haworth. In the charming bar the ceiling beams are supported by timber posts, and locals appreciatively quaff their pints of guest ale. Food is taken seriously and 'dispensed with hospitality and good measure'. Bar snacks include baguettes, salads and jackets, while a meal in the Gimmerton Restaurant might include belly pork, king scallops with cauliflower purée and dry-cured pancetta, followed by pan-fried pheasant breast wrapped in home-dried bacon with potato rösti and Madeira sauce. Vegetarians are well catered for.
