The Bell

'A village pub' says the sign on the front of the building, which, with the parish church only a couple of hundred yards away, indeed it is. Real ales include Marston's Pedigree and Timothy Taylor Landlord, are accompanied by a more local guest. Pub classics of wholetail breaded scampi; chilli con carne; and honey-baked ham and eggs are popular; so too are specials such as Thai fish curry with green peppers, coconut milk and basmati rice; Barnsley chops with rosemary mash and redcurrant and mint gravy; and duo of duck with Kirsch and rich berry sauce. Monthly steak nights are a big draw.
