The Calveley Arms

The spruced-up old coaching inn, first licensed in 1636, stands opposite the church with views of the distant Welsh hills. Chock full of old timbers, jugs, pots, pictures, prints and ornaments, the rambling bars provide an atmospheric setting in which to sample some cracking beers and decent pub food. Typically, tuck into lunchtime filled baguettes (hot beef), steak-and-kidney pie, sirloin steak with pepper sauce, speciality salads, and a good selection of pasta dishes. There are spacious gardens to enjoy in summer.
