You can just sit at the spotless bar and enjoy a pint of Woodforde's Wherry, but chances are most people arriving here will have booked a table. The contemporary decor, crisp white napery and smartly dressed front of house staff all indicate a quality food destination. That said, dogs are welcome in the bar, children have their own menu, and the welcome from the staff matches the warmth of the atmosphere. So choose your refreshment and settle down to enjoy the labours of a highly-qualified kitchen brigade - roast saddle of venison; roast sea bass in a Thai-style broth; and butternut squash and feta cheese bake are indicative dishes. If you aren't too full, try the vanilla poached apple with blackberries and hazelnut crumble.
