The Beehive

This family-run free house has held its liquor license for over 200 years and featured in the Catweazel TV series in the 1970s. These days it retains plenty of traditional charms including exposed beams, a real fire in winter and decked and grassed areas for sunnier days. The kitchen specialises in fresh fish from Billingsgate market - maybe poached fish pie or sea bass fillets with basil pesto. Alternatives include steak, mushroom and ale pudding, and Thai green chicken curry. At the bar you'll find two permanent ales and a changing guest.
