The Tempest Arms

A local landmark, the Tempest dates to the coaching days of the 17th century. The Yorkshire Dales and surrounding countryside bring walkers and cyclists, who enjoy the pub's warm welcome and convivial atmosphere. Wood fires, comfy cushions, alcoves and dining spaces set the interior's comfortable mood, completed by an array of Yorkshire ales at the bar and a vast menu of pub food. A Tempest staple is the seafood pancake with creamy sauce, salad and chipped potatoes. But there's no better place for a starter of Yorkshire puddings and onion gravy, with Bolton Abbey lamb and vegetable hotpot to follow.
