The Green Man

Highwood Road, EDNEY COMMON, CM1 3QE

A classic red brick Grade II listed building dating back to 1730, The Green Man offers a comfortable beamed dining room, and regularly changing menus, featuring freshly prepared, often local produce in a wide range of dishes, including their signature 20 hour-cooked lamb shank with swede mash and rosemary jus. There's a beer garden with a natural pond and a lovely sunny courtyard for alfresco dining, and dinner could start with chicken liver parfait and toasted ciabatta; or roast pigeon breast with bacon, swede and pearl barley risotto. Main courses might include roast belly of pork with snow crab cakes and apple chutney; or Loch Duart salmon ballotine with lobster mousse and pea purée.
