10 West Street, DUNSTER, TA24 6SN
Dunster Castle dominates this historic village, the Gateway to Exmoor National Park. The inn itself is 16th century, as a fresco in a bedroom depicting Henry VIII as the devil confirms. The bar stocks Somerset real ciders and ales, including Exmoor Ale brewed in Wiveliscombe. Sandwiches and a ploughman's are served at lunchtime, while the main menu presents sweet potato, spinach and almond curry; coriander and garlic chicken; and pork, fennel and sage pie. This small inn has limited seating, so reservations for dinner and Sunday lunch are recommended.
