Speedwell Bar

165-167 Perth Road, DUNDEE, DD2 1AS

This fine example of an unspoiled Edwardian bar is worth visiting for its interior alone; all the fitments in the bar and sitting rooms are beautifully crafted mahogany - gantry, drink shelves, dado panelling and fireplace. The same family owned it for 90 years, until the present landlord's father bought it in 1995. As well as the cask-conditioned ales, 157 whiskies and imported bottles are offered. A kitchen would be good, but since the pub is listed this is impossible. This community pub is home to several clubs and has live Scottish music from time to time on a Tuesday.
