Barley Hill, DUNBRIDGE, Romsey, SO51 0LF
There's been a change of hands at this attractive Victorian country inn. With its flagstone floors, oak beams and open fires, it's traditional and welcoming, and in a great location in the heart of the Test Valley close to the River Test, one of the finest chalk streams in the world. Not surprisingly, the pub is popular with fly fishermen from far and wide. On the menu you'll find everything from patatas bravas and chorizo, to a good choice of sandwiches, as well as more substantial dishes like game cobbler or beer battered fish and chips. There's also a function room, a skittle alley and large landscaped gardens.
