Village Road, DORNEY, nr Eton, SL4 6QW
Built in the 15th century with wooden beams and open fires, this family-friendly pub in the pretty conservation village of Dorney is just a short stroll from the Thames Path and Boveney Lock. Refurbished in 2013 with contemporary decor and furnishings, award-winning head chef Justin Brown is also a new addition. He creates modern and classic British dishes, which can be accompanied by wines from the comprehensive list. Venison and black pudding sausage roll may precede a main of pan-fried breast of guinea fowl. There is a lighter lunch menu, roasts on Sundays and tasting menu evenings. A summer beer festival features local beers and ciders.
