Cuddington is a picturesque village, which is why it has often featured in the TV series Midsomer Murders. Some scenes were filmed at this thatched and whitewashed listed pub, with its atmospheric interior that includes a locals' bar and several low-beamed dining areas filled with prints and evening candlelight. Fuller's London Pride, Adnams and guest ales are on tap, and there's also an extensive wine list. Seafood dishes are a major attraction, and might include seafood pie; smoked haddock with grilled Welsh rarebit, tomato salad and chips; sea bass with crab risotto; and scallops with pancetta, salad leaves and truffle vinaigrette. Among other modern, internationally influenced options are rib-eye steak with grilled tomato, mushrooms and chips; slow-roast pork belly with Savoy cabbage, smoked bacon, mash and vanilla jus; and aubergine parmigiana with green salad. Sandwiches, salads and 'small plates' are also available. A compact patio area provides outside seating.
