The Finnygook Inn

CRAFTHOLE, PL11 3BQ

This 16th-century pub is located in a hamlet above Portwrinkle's cove-nibbled coast. They say the ghost of smuggler Silas Finny walks the cliffs and byways hereabouts; so, too, do ramblers and visitors seeking to share the local beers from St Austell, Penpont, Harbour and Bays breweries, and tempting fodder available here. The Finnygook serves a host of reliable favourites - Cornish crab, prawn and crayfish cocktail; pork and herb sausages, spring onion mash and caramelised onion gravy; and home-cooked ham, free-range eggs and thick-cut chips - taken by the log fire, in the library room or on the terrace with distant views up the Tamar estuary.
