The Alma Inn

Stone floors, original beams and real fires have all been preserved in the restoration of this inn, which dates from 1725. Deep in Pendle's magnificent countryside, it offers a relaxed and welcoming setting for drinking or dining. The menu is built around local produce including steak (served with a choice of sauces) and Pendle Forest lamb shank, maybe braised in port with spring onion champ, garlic green beans and a mint and redcurrant sauce. Other options include sandwiches and filled crusty ciabattas. Finish with home-churned ice cream.
