The New Inn

Landlord Maurice Estop, whose family have run this part-thatched, stone-built, 16th-century village inn for 25 years, is only the fourth licensee in the last 150 years. Still in place are the old inglenook fireplaces and a brick alcove that used to be the kitchen oven from its days as a farmhouse. Real ales include Jurassic and changing guests, and there are draught ciders too, while fresh home-cooked food includes catch of the day, roasts, traditional pies, sandwiches and home-made desserts. The new Purbeck Lounge is tailor-made for family dining.
