1 Ferry Path, CAMBRIDGE, CB4 1HB
You'll find this bustling pub in the leafy suburb of De Freville, just a short stroll from the River Cam and its many boatyards. The bright and airy interior offers rug-covered wooden floors, comfy sofas and large family tables. Sip a pint of Elgood's Cambridge Bitter, one of the five real ales on tap, or one of 20 wines by the glass while choosing from over a dozen main courses plus specials, perhaps smoked mackerel, beetroot, new potato and spring onion salad; steak ciabatta sandwich with home-made onion marmalade; Cumberland sausage and mash. Sharing plates, sandwiches, wraps and lighter meals add to the choices. Leave some room for pudding though, a chocolate and nut brownie, for example.
