Standing 200 yards back fro the River Teith in the heart of the Trossachs National Park, the stone built Lade Inn is part of the surrounding Leny Estate and was built as a tearoom in 1935. First licensed in the 1960s, the traditional bar is noted for its real ales - try a pint of Belhaven Best - and home-cooked food. Typical dishes include smoked venison with spiced fruit chutney, beer-battered haddock, and sticky toffee pudding. There's a superb beer garden with three ponds and Scottish folk music is played every Friday and Saturday. Don't miss the pub's real ale shop, which stocks over 130 Scottish bottled beers from 30 micro-breweries, and the week-long beer festival in late August.
