The Bull

BROUGHTON, Skipton, BD23 3AE

The Bull is part of the Broughton Estate, 3,000 acres of prime Yorkshire parkland and countryside, owned by the Tempests for nine centuries; their family seat, Broughton Hall, is close by. While essentially a dining pub, The Bull still loves to see beer drinkers, with a good selection of real ales - Dark Horse Hetton Pale Ale and Thwaites Original for example - and a real cider, Westons Stowford Press. The chefs rely on carefully chosen local producers for their modern English dishes such as baked east coast cod; Waterford Farm pork belly; Nigel Haworth's take on the classic Lancashire hotpot; and Wensleydale cheese and onion pie. You can choose to have your chips fried in dripping, and there's a good selection of sandwiches as well. Finish with a comforting mincemeat and cranberry Bakewell.
