Peter Dowd has run his Victorian back-street local, tucked away in the bohemian North Laine area, with passion and pride for over 25 years. Quirky customer messages left in vintage tins on the walls have made it a legend in the city. Expect to find a splendid selection of Fuller's and guest real ales, around 100 malt whiskies and rarely seen vodkas, gins and bourbons. Food is all prepared from locally sourced produce, such as the fish which comes in daily from Sussex fishermen. Hot mains include seafood platter; rib-eye and rump steaks; and authentic beef or vegetarian Mexican chilli.
