The Basketmakers Arms

This Victorian corner pub in the North Laine area of the city has been run with pride by the same landlord for nearly 25 years. Peter Dowd rings the changes with eight real ales, around 100 malt whiskies and large selections of vodka, gin, and bourbon. Menus too are all cooked in-house, prepared from locally sourced produce. Fish is bought daily straight from the local fishermen, so specials may include a seafood platter with calamari, tiger prawns, cod goujons and mussels accompanied by a full salad.
